Managing Director & Financial Adviser
Chris advises on investment, pensions, mortgages and all financial planning matters and is passionate about his business and the service he provides to his customers. He has been in the industry since leaving Leeds university in 1980 and has a wealth of knowledge and experience.
He came to Skipton in 1988, establishing a new financial services brokerage and purchased A J Hird Insurance Consultants in 2003, broadening the scope of the business to include general insurance.
His sense of humour may be 'dubious', but he is passionate about 'doing the job right' and doing it right first time, something that clients have come to appreciate over the years.
When not at the day job he is a keen amateur, actor and singer, taking part in various productions up hill and down dale, including the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford. His most favourite role was when playing an 'Eric Morecambe' character in Inspector Drake and The Perfect Crime! For upcoming productions, please see our news and announcements page.
Joanne Casper CertCII
General Insurance Director
Joanne has worked in the industry since 1983 and joined Chris in 1998. She has qualified as a mortgage adviser and financial planner along the way. Joanne, with the takeover of A J Hird Insurance, now specialises in all areas of general insurance within the firm and is based at the main office in Addingham, where she treats customers to a first class service for all types of insurance requirements.
Like Chris, she has also made sure she can demonstrate her acquired knowledge and passed the Chartered Insurance Institute General Insurance Certificate.
Michelle Booth
Insurance Broker
Michelle is a highly experienced insurance broker having been with the firm since 2001 and having over ten years industry service. Michelle's hobbies also seem to be insurance exams so you can be reassured that as well as knowing the job, she knows the detail too.
Jackie Simmonite
Office Manager
Jackie's is a familiar voice on the end of the phone, and also joined Chris in 1998 and has been with the new A J Hird company since the beginning. She organises the Skipton office, dealing with all Chris's processing and liaises directly with clients to ensure a smooth passage of their mortgage and other transactional arrangements.
Diane Harker
Administrator
Diane is another longstanding member of the team who deals with those essential administrative tasks that make the business run smoothly and deliver on time.
